Vision. Mission. Method.
Throughout history, the church has had to seek and know the Father’s heart as to how it should live out Christ’s presence in the midst of its particular culture. We, like the generations before us, are responsible to do the same. How do we touch our world for Christ right here and now? God continues to call a people, in every place and time, including our place and our time. Are we listening? Are we ready to follow?
We are about transformation.
When we experience being born again in Christ, we are transformed into a whole new person:
2 COR 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! As Christians we are in an on-going lifestyle of transformation.
ROM 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Every day brings opportunities of change if we are willing to allow the Holy Spirit to work in our lives.
That the lost would be saved.
All who would come to Christ would be given the opportunity through church services, community and missions outreaches and one-on-one interaction:
MAR 16:15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.
LUK 19:10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.”
2 PE 3:9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
Converts would become disciples.
To teach and train new believers to follow the precepts and instructions of being a follower of Jesus:
MAT 28:18-20 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Believers would be equipped.
Through an environment of teaching, serving and training, healthy and mature Christians would discover their purpose in life and be equipped to fulfil their destiny:
EPH 2:10 For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
HEB 5:14 But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.
We would become trained for God’s work.
Proper leadership development where sound doctrine, communication skills and recognizing and developing the call of God in others is taught in an atmosphere for Godly traits to blossom to fruitfulness:
EPH 4:11-12 It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up;
2TI 2:2 And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.
Everyone doing their part.
Mission is what we do to fulfill vision. Method is how we accomplish our mission. Method involves everyone doing their part. The leadership of Gillette Christian Center may have insight and provide help with opportunities of discovery, but only you can determine your part. If you are serious about discovering what God has for you and are willing to put forth effort, Gillette Christian Center is bursting with opportunity. Remember, you doing your part will help bring transformation into someone elses life, because that is our vision.
